This activity gives you the opportunity to create a visual map of the theories, concepts and key figures involved with your topic. Reviewing the literature supporting your topic builds your understanding of the theories and concepts in your topic field. Moreover, you can continue to use strategies such as concept maps in your research courses in the future.

Using a graphic organizer of your choice (see below), create a map of your topic choice from Practice Activity 3. Map out the key theories, schools of thought, contributors to the field, or any biopsychosocial or historical concepts that you identify as part of your topic. Be creative!
Attend the required video conference on concept mapping. Bring your questions about concept mapping and come prepared to workshop an example with your classmate.
Draft a 2-3 paragraph summary explaining your concept map. Describe the connections between the different elements and how they are helping you develop a deeper understanding of your topic of interest.
Upload your Topic Concept Map and summary to the submissions, using your name in the title of the document (e.g., LASTNAME_Concept_Map)

You can choose how to create your own map. Suggestions include using PowerPoint Smart Chart and upload to submissions as a jpg. Write or draw your map on paper and take photos, upload the jpg images for your submission.
